Supervisor Due Diligence Course

Project Overview and Requirements

The project requirement was to design and develop an interactive eLearning course on Due Diligence for Supervisors as part of their Supervisor Awareness Training program. The course consisted of:

  • The duties and rights of workers
  • Supervisors and employers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • The roles of health and safety representatives and joint health and safety committees
  • The regulatory bodies and health and safety system partners
  • The translation of each course into French
  • The importance of being a role model and leader of health and safety in the workplace

The client requested a conversion of the existing face-to-face training content into an interactive eLearning course to deploy on their existing Learning Management System. The client provided the training content in the form of PDF manuals, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and images.

Our Proposed Solution

We evaluated the input received from the client. Based on the requirements, we used effective instructional design strategies to deliver an engaging and simplified learning experience for the learners. The course was demonstrated with consistent visual as well as interactive designs to reduce confusion and improve focus on the learning content. We developed the eLearning course using different types of slides and features such as,

  • Interactive slides, Text and image slides, Animation slides, Scenario based, Infographic layouts
  • Integrated human audio and videos with close captioning
  • Assessment slides (Knowledge Checks and Final quiz questions)

The SCORM 1.2 and HTML5 output was delivered to upload into the client’s LMS.

Development Tool

We used Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator software for the development of the course.

Conclusion

The self-paced training course was well received by supervisors, had a high level of engagement, and confirmed compliance with health and safety legislations.
